First leg of the Yellowstone Road Trip

Sunday was a good travel day, the weather was nice all day in all six, yes SIX states. We had some time where it was overcast but for the most part it was blue sky and sunshine. As per our usual we got off a little later than than we wanted to. Once we got on the road it was all good.

Bella and Bazil, our two little Italian greyhounds are on the trip with us and they were great on Sunday, today (Monday) not so much! I think they were sick of being in the car, and so were we.  It rained on us all day today all the way until we got outside of Estes Park, where it started to rain and snow. It is wet snow and I don't think we have anything to worry about.

I hope to get some pictures tomorrow, so far we were just in hurry up mode and didn't want to stop to take any. Not that there was a lot to see anyway. We got off the interstate outside of Denver and took a scenic byway, State Rd 86. It was pretty and we saw a couple of Mule Deer and a prong horn. But the rain kept us form stopping. I did see a Bald Eagle and several hawks today as well.

We are finally settled in for the evening and hope to get an early start tomorrow.  From what little we were able to see before it got too dark it is gorgeous here! I look forward to getting out and exploring tomorrow even if it rains again all day which unfortunately is what is in the forecast.
